Lost Children in Worship?

One of the Easter services will be designed for children and families and as a part of this service there will be a children’s message in which the children come down front. This has caused some logistical questions such as:

  1. What if children get lost going back to their parents?
  2. What will be on the video screens? Pastor or children?
  3. How much time is needed for children to make their way down front?
  4. Will there be enough space for an unknown number of children to be down front?

Sometimes it is a little surreal planning worship in an approximately 3,000 seat sanctuary. I imagine some of these questions would disappear in a smaller sanctuary…

Andrew,

How right you are to fret about “lost children.” I guess that’s the whole significance of Christian ministry, isn’t it? When we stop worrying about the lost children, we’re ourselves wandering in the wilderness.

Have a terrific Easter, friend.

Lance – Thanks for a different perspective on “lost children.” I appreciate your reminder that children of all ages are lost. Have a great Easter as well!

in a very small sanctuary like ours (seats 120) we have different problems … no screen, no space, not that many kids either (some and it’s encouraging) and no teens (except my two)
