Resurrection Road Trip!

Early this morning, I am headed off on a road trip with 28 other staff from Resurrection. You guessed it, time for the fall 2007 senior staff retreat! Twice a year there is a retreat for ministry director level staff (a particular level in our organization chart – link to PDF). It is usually a look ahead to the future to talk about ways of implementing strategic initiatives for the coming year or reviewing how we have done in the past. I have found them to be a great way to be a part of the big picture in the life of the church and look into the future to where God is calling us. I love being a part of a visioning process.

This will be the first road trip retreat of which I have been a part. We are headed to Barrington, Illinois and Granger, Indiana to visit Willow Creek Community Church and Granger Community Church, respectively. We will be able to tour the facilities and interact with some of the leadership at each location. We will also have some bus activities (group sing-a-long? Anyone?). It should be a great time and I am looking forward to it. Hopefully I will be able to add some pictures as we go.

You’re coming right through our neighborhood – make sure to wave when you come from IL into Indiana!

I look forward to hearing about your experiences on this trip!
