Certified Lay Ministry

The Certified Lay Minister Program of the Kansas Area in Partnership with the Center for Church Leadership and Kansas Wesleyan University passed. The training will include 12 college hours taken over three to four years.

I think that this program will be a good one of revitalization of congregations in providing for the leadership for small membership congregations. I also think that there is great potential for this role to provide the opportunity for increased participation for lay members to be certified for the caring for and leadership of local congregations.

Although the Congregational Care Minister position at Resurrection is moving forward, I mused on Certified Lay Minstry as a possible role for being a part of caring for the congregation – here.
