Radical Hospitality – SWAT Training Exercise

The pending removal of the annex building has resulted in changes in office space here at Resurrection. A vacant building has allowed an unexpected opportunity for hospitality. On Monday, the FBI SWAT team based in Kansas City conducted training exercises at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. Some church staff were a part of this scenario and others as simulated hostages.

The team was at the church for the entire day (taking a break during the time that a funeral took place on campus). I thought that it was neat to be able to host the team. As enjoyable as it was to view a little training, I hope to never see this team in real action at any church.

Thanks to all these men of this team and all the women and men of law enforcement for what they do every day.
