About

I’m Andrew Conard, a United Methodist pastor serving McPherson First UMC in McPherson, Kansas. I write daily devotionals that extend Sunday’s scripture into the rest of your week — short reflections with a prayer, delivered to your inbox each morning.

I also write occasionally about what pastoral ministry actually looks like from the inside. Capital campaigns, small-town church life, sermon prep, funerals, denominational change, raising teenagers with a clergy spouse — the real stuff behind the stained glass.

If you’re a pastor, church leader, or someone who cares deeply about the life of the church, I think you’ll find something here.

A little more about me:

I came to ministry after a biology degree and a summer in a molecular biology lab convinced me that wasn't my path. At a campus ministry retreat, I encountered Jesus' invitation to "come and see" — and I haven't looked back. I live in McPherson with my wife Nicole, who is also a United Methodist pastor, and our two kids. Some content on this page is developed with assistance from AI tools.
