In between hospital visits this morning, I discovered what I think may be the best coffee shop in Kansas City – The Roasterie Cafe. I think it rivals Murky Coffee in DC. Good stuff, great coffee.

Just want to note how jealous I am… sounds like a great coffee shop. (And I have had that coffee, and it is amazing!) Even though I love Starbucks and actually think they do a lot of good things, I miss the neighborhood coffee shop that actually has some local flavor, they can be hard to find.
I miss Murky.
Actually, I think I miss the free coffee that Rahel used to hook me up with.
There’s a Coffee Bean within a walking distance from my home that has been serving as my second office.
It’s a little bit more expensive than Starbucks.
Kevin – Yeah, that’s true – local flavor is almost always better.
Joseph – Although I did not benefit from the free coffee as much as you did ๐ it was still a great place. Any place where you can set up a second office, I think is great. Free wireless? Definitely a plus.
I haven’t had an opportunity to stop by the Roasterie Cafe but drank Roasterie coffee at home for many years until I discovered Starbucks Columbian at WalMart.. flavor and price just won out ๐
You can also pick it up in huge family size bags at Costco. It’s Scharme and I’s favorite thing in Kansas City so far…Can you say “great Christmas presents”!
kansasbob – Sounds like you found a good one-two punch that works for you. Nice.
Jason Gant – Favorite thing in KC. Cool. Are you dropping not so subtle hints about what you might like? Or commenting on the possibility for giving to others? ๐ In either case, a compliment on coffee from you is a true compliment. Glad that you enjoy it!
