The YouTube Nonprofit Program was announced on the YouTube blog last week. This is promoted as an opportunity to share the message of your organization through video. Specific perks from the website:
Your Nonprofit channel includes:
- Premium branding capabilities and increased uploading capacity
- Rotation of your videos in the “Promoted Videos” areas throughout the site
- The option to drive fundraising through a Google Checkout “Donate” button
I think that this provides a great opportunity for local churches. It might be used in a stewardship or building campaign, to promote different ministry areas or simply provide an introduction to the congregation. I think that sacred and secular partnerships have great potential to be healthy and provide a venue for a shared mission.
What do you think? Do you know of any congregations or denominations that are utilizing this opportunity?
