Application – Worship Roundtable: Part 3

So what does all this conversation about worship mean? Good question. I have heard conversations floating around at Resurrection around this question: How is a better worship experience facilitated for people in their 20’s and early 30’s? There has been conversation about a new worship service, exploring a new format for one of the existing services, providing more intentional time for connection and conversation after one of the existing services, etc.

The conversations about worship are in part in response to the question above. However, it has been emphasized that considerations of worship are not just to reach a particular demographic. The bigger picture question is: How does worship evolve in a way that is faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ and relevant to the people of this time and place? The conversations which I have been a part of seem to indicate that changes in worship at Resurrection may be more evolutionary rather than revolutionary.  I hope to see changes begin to take place in the next few months or before the end of 2007.

What those changes may be is still an open question…
