With Me
Matthew 25:23 (CEB) · The Gospel on Stage and Screen
“His master replied, ‘Well done! You are a good and faithful servant. You’ve been faithful over a little. I’ll put you in charge of much. Come, celebrate with me.’” — Matthew 25:23 (CEB)
Not “celebrate your success.” Not “celebrate what you earned.” Celebrate with me. The reward for faithfulness isn’t a bonus or a promotion. It’s deeper relationship with the one who gave the gift in the first place.
The master wants the servant’s company. The whole parable has been building toward this single invitation, come closer, not because you performed well, but because your faithfulness reveals that you trust me enough to try.
Tomorrow we gather in that same spirit, to hear this parable proclaimed and to celebrate with the God who gave us everything we carry. Worship is at 8:30 AM with hymns and organ, or 10:15 AM with our praise team. Online worship is available at youtube.com/@mcphersonfirst. Whatever your week held, courage or hesitation, risk or retreat, you are welcome at the table.
God, thank you for the invitation that waits at the end of every faithful step, not a grade, but your presence. Tomorrow we come to celebrate with you. Amen.
