You’re standing in a crowd. Maybe it’s at a ballgame, a concert, or a community gathering. You feel the energy—that electric current that runs through a group of people all focused on the same thing. There’s something powerful about being part of something larger than yourself.
But crowds can turn. You’ve seen it happen. What starts as excitement becomes agitation. Fear ripples through the group like a wave. Someone shouts something, and suddenly you feel the pull to go along, to add your voice to the rising noise. It’s easier than standing apart. Safer than being noticed.
