You’ve seen them—those signs people hold at intersections. Sometimes they’re asking for help. Sometimes they’re advertising a sale. Sometimes they’re making a political statement. Most of the time, we drive past without really reading them.

But every once in a while, a sign stops you. Maybe it’s the words. Maybe it’s the person holding it. Maybe it’s just the right moment when you’re paying attention instead of checking your phone at the red light. And suddenly a few words on cardboard change how you see the rest of your day.
