“So Pilate went out to them and asked, ‘What charge do you bring against this man?’” — John 18:29 (CEB)

Pilate starts by asking the right question. He goes to the accusers. He seeks facts. He even declares Jesus innocent. His failure wasn’t in his thinking. It was in his follow-through.
