“Then they cried for help to the Lord.” – Joshua 24:7 (CEB)
Joshua’s long story of everything God did has one line where the people act. They cried for help. Trapped at the edge of the sea, with an army behind them, they had no plan and no answer. All they had was a cry.
It was enough. God heard them. The story does not stop to explain why they were trapped or how long they waited. It only says God was there.
Many of us start this week the same way, after a Saturday that broke McPherson’s heart. You do not need the right words or a steady voice to pray. Crying out to God is not a failure of faith. It is the first move God’s people have always made. What do you need to cry out to God today, without tidying it up first?
God who hears, I don’t have answers this morning, only the cry. Hear it, and stay near to every family carrying grief this week. Amen.
