“There he built an altar to the Lord and worshipped in the Lord’s name.” – Genesis 12:8 (CEB)
Abram built an altar and worshipped in the Lord’s name. He named God out loud, in the open. All week we’ve watched a faith that refuses to stay hidden: a call answered, a blessing passed on, an altar in plain sight.
The simplest way we live faith out loud is one of the promises we make here, the promise of witness, and it starts small, with telling your story. Not a polished speech, just the honest word of where you’ve seen God at work.
Tomorrow is a good day to practice. Grace Groups are meeting on Wednesday nights and Thursday mornings, and telling your story is exactly the point of them. Come and be part of it. We worship at 8:30 and 10:15, and there’s a place for your story here. Online worship is available at youtube.com/@mcphersonfirst.
God, give me the words and the nerve to tell my story, so that someone else might find their way into yours. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
