Protect the Treasure

“Protect this good thing that has been placed in your trust through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.” — 2 Timothy 1:14 (CEB)
The faith Timothy has received is a treasure. Paul does not tell Timothy to invent it or improve it. He tells Timothy to protect it, and names the protector: the Holy Spirit who already lives in us.
This is how faith moves. Received, treasured, guarded, eventually passed on. That is the arc of the whole series.
