Faithful with What You Have
Matthew 25:14-30 (CEB) · The Gospel on Stage and Screen
“The kingdom of heaven is like a man who was leaving on a trip. He called his servants and handed his possessions over to them.” — Matthew 25:14 (CEB)
Not faithful with what you wish you had. Not faithful with what someone else was given. Faithful with what’s actually in your hands, right now, today.
All week we’ve been sitting with this parable, the personalized gifts, the small investments that compound, the master who celebrates faithfulness over perfection, the fear that buries, the permission to start small, and the invitation to deeper relationship. This morning we hear Jesus tell the whole story. Three servants. Three choices. One invitation that changes everything.
In Toy Story, the characters come alive when nobody’s watching, and their true character is revealed in the unseen moments. The same is true for us. What you do when no one is watching defines who you are becoming.
Come and hear the story.
Faithful God, we come to worship today carrying what you have given us, our doubts and our courage, our small steps and our buried hopes. Meet us in this place and make us faithful. Amen.
