Exhibit A
1 Timothy 1:16 (CEB) · The Gospel on Stage and Screen
“But this is why I was shown mercy, so that Christ Jesus could show his endless patience to me first of all. So I’m an example for those who are going to believe in him for eternal life.” — 1 Timothy 1:16 (CEB)
Paul gives a startling reason for his story: he was shown mercy so someone else could see it. His life became evidence. Not a trophy, not a résumé, but a demonstration that God’s patience is longer than anyone’s resistance.
Someone is watching your life right now, looking for evidence that God is patient with people like them. A child. A neighbor. A co-worker who has noticed how you carry yourself. They are not looking for a polished life. They are looking for a real one that grace has touched.
You do not have to be the expert or have the theology figured out. You just have to be honest about grace. Where is one place this week you can be Exhibit A? Not a perfect example. A present one. Let your life answer yes.
Patient God, you made Paul an example so others could believe. Let my life be honest evidence of grace for whoever is watching, and let it answer yes. Amen.
