Community Supported Agriculture

This summer Nicole and I have enjoyed fresh vegetables weekly from the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program from the Kansas City Center for Urban Agriculture. Basically we paid a set amount of money up front and now weekly throughout the summer pick up a bag of fresh vegetables - whatever is in season. It has been a great experience and a bit of adventure as we have had to figure out how to enjoy some things that we had never heard of before.

I think that this is a part of stewardship of the environment and it helps me to connect with individuals. I know by name the owners of the farm. One more step toward loving your neighbor...
