Stories from Easter (2 of 4)

I lead worship at the 5:00 PM Saturday and 9:00 AM Sunday services. Resurrection had services at the following times.

  • 5:00 PM Saturday
  • 7:00 PM Saturday
  • 7:00 AM Sunday
  • 9:00 AM Sunday
  • 9:00 AM Sunday (Resurrection West)
  • 9:15 AM Sunday (Student Center)
  • 10:00 AM Sunday (Grand Avenue Temple)
  • 11:00 AM Sunday
  • 11:00 AM Sunday (Resurrection West)
  • 11:00 AM Sunday (Internet)
  • 3:00 PM Sunday
  • 5:00 PM Sunday

Each of the services that I helped to lead were near capacity (3200 seats) in the sanctuary. It is really cool to lead worship in a space that is full – no matter what size.

Thanks to Travis for reminding me about the Resurrection West services and Janelle for the Internet stream. I apologize for initially leaving out these services.

Andrew,
What excatly did your 3:00 pm Sunday Family Service look like? Our church is exploring doing a Family Service next year and I’m curious. We are thinking of doing ours on Saturday evening.

Andrew

You missed out on the 9 AM and 11 AM services at the Resurrection West campus. We had a full house as well with about 850 between two services! Considering we only rented 400 chairs for the two services that meant pulling out additional seats from the school’s supply of chairs.

We had the awkwardness of moving (and aligning) a 9’x12′ screen in the middle of the stage in the Student Center within the space of 2 1/2 minutes. So you missed out on that fun too. 🙂

Don’t forget the live stream online. There were tons of great comments about that. And you know how it is, people generally only comment if they don’t like something. So the fact that they commented on something they liked means that they must have thought that it was exceptionally fabulous.

GK – The family service included a shorter sermon, a children’s time with children coming forward (not something that we do on a regular basis), music from all of the children’s choirs, and a child reading scripture. Otherwise, about the same.

Allen – Thanks. 🙂

Travis – Awesome, thanks for the reminder and sorry about the miss.

deviantmonk – No envy there.

Janelle – I’ll put it in 🙂
