This weekend, Bob Beltz, author and producer, preached around the movie – Amazing Grace. During the weekend worship services, Bob Beltz shared a story of having the opportunity to sit in on a meeting between a life coach and a client in Denver. During that time, the life coach shared the following:
Most people…
- Radically overestimate what they can accomplish in one year.
- Radically underestimate what they can accomplish in five.
- And have no comprehension what they can accomplish in fifteen.
I found this to be insightful and encouraging. Thoughts?

I absolutely loved his sermon. I thought it was inspiring and encouraging and perfect for the “mission weekend.” Overall, I just really enjoyed the church service.
I think I might say that people radically ignore anything beyond a year.
Amanda – I am very glad that you found the service to be inspiring and encouraging. Which of the services did you attend?
Matt – LOL. That’s true…
I went to the Sunday evening service. I loved the story he added about praying at the altar (since he didn’t do it at the other conference).
By the way, your message on Wednesday was wonderful. I really enjoyed it. I’ve totally done that “pull over and take a quick nap” thing and then I’ve gone the wrong direction. I thought it was the perfect story for Ash Wednesday.
Happy Friday
Amanda – Thanks.
